André, ex-Sport, assume presidência de time do Rio de Janeiro

Ex-atacante de 34 anos se aposentou do futebol em setembro do ano passado

O ex-atacante André, que teve passagens por Sport, Santos, Corinthians, Vasco, Atlético-MG, Grêmio e seleção brasileira ao longo de sua carreira, anunciou, nesta terça-feira (25), que assumiu a presidência da Cabofriense, equipe que atualmente disputa a Série A2 do Campeonato Carioca.

Nas redes sociais, o ex-jogador de 34 anos mostrou o momento da assinatura do contrato.

Natural de Cabo Frio, no Rio de Janeiro, André afirmou que um de seus objetivos na presidência da Cabofriense é fazer com que os jovens da região tenham a mesma oportunidade que ele teve. Além disso, o ex-atacante quer colocar o time na elite do futebol carioca, onde não frequenta desde 2021, quando foi rebaixada.

"Mais um grande desafio para 2025! Agora, oficialmente, assumo a presidência da cabofriense , o clube da minha cidade e que me abriu as portas para o futebol. É hora de voltar para casa, criar oportunidades para os jovens da nossa região e recolocar a Cabofriense no lugar que ela merece: a elite do futebol carioca!", escreveu André nas redes sociais.

André iniciou nas categorias de base da Cabofriense, mas ainda na base foi contratado pelo Santos. Curiosamente, o time de Cabo Frio foi o último clube na carreira do ex-atacante, que se aposentou no dia 11 de setembro de 2024, logo após a eliminação da equipe da sua cidade natal para o Olaria, na terceira fase da Copa Rio.
